   Our long-time county chair, Jeanine Bishop, chose not to run for re-election in 2022, and has recently relocated to Alpine. We are now engaged in a process of reorganizing and revitalizing our Jeff Davis County Democratic Party. 

   We have selected a new county chair and formed a county executive committee consisting of the county chair, new precinct chairs for each of all five Jeff Davis County precincts, and a secretary. In addition, we have adopted a new set of by-laws to govern our party activities and approved a 2023 budget for activities in each of the five precincts.

   We have scheduled regular monthly meetings of our county executive committee, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. And we plan to keep our party office open through the November 2024 presidential election. Our new County Chair, Calvin Glover, is maintaining regular office hours at the party office, from 10am to 1pm Monday through Friday. Come by and introduce yourself and let us know how you would like to participate. 

   Jeanine Bishop and Vicki Gibson continue to maintain our Jeff Davis County Democrats Facebook page, and we have constructed this new website to better communicate with current and prospective members, and to express our views. Please let us know what you think of our website, and what we can do to improve it.

   Our party is actively focusing on state and especially local issues. We are organizing Action Committees to make a difference on issues such as health, climate, reproductive rights, gun violence, and teachers.
